The Landing is a very successful 174,713 square foot multi-tenant building constructed at the turn of the century as a supply warehouse serving goldrush miners. It was acquired by the McLean Group in the early 1980s with the intention of recreating the character and tradition of the early days of Vancouver. In 1987, the building was completely renovated and reconstructed to meet Class A standards of building safety, systems, and comfort. Six office floors and two retail levels have been restored to preserve a sense of history and warmth. Elegant features such as columns, extensive millwork, oak and wool floor coverings have been employed to create a unique, rich, and inviting ambiance. All of the above are located in a spectacular setting overlooking the harbour, cruise ship terminal, and the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre. Access to the building is available by SkyTrain, the West Coast Express, the Seabus to the North Shore, and Helijet Airways to Vancouver Island via the Downtown Heliport. Parking is available on the lower level of the building and in several parkades adjacent to the site.
The Landing is located in the heart of the central business district on the boundary of historic Gastown and enjoys the best of both communities. This award winning building continues to attract office and retail tenants who appreciate the charm, integrity, and functionality of the design and construction.
Proposed development in and around the Landing is expected to increase retail and office leasing in the years to come. In particular, the Province of British Columbia plans to expand the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre. As well, B.C. Transit has designated the Seabus Terminal, located in the building directly west of the Landing, as the centre of their transportation facility for downtown Vancouver.
